At Town of Oyster Bay Skating Center at Bethpage, the Cold Spring Harbor Seahawks came out of a short ice surface delay in the third period to back-off the Long Beach Marines with a goal from Max Van Son at 12:53 or the final frame to take a 2-1 lead and a 1-0 lead in their best of three series.
The final two minutes were not without thrills as CSH was whistled for freezing the puck in the crease and thus a penalty shot for Long Beach. The Marines Jack Gannon was not able to slip the penalty shot, a potential tying goal past Seahawks goalie Griffin Igleasis with 1:13 remaining in the contest.
Game two resumes tomorrow at 7:45pm at Long Beach Arena.
