2-0 Series Victory to Win at Home

The Shane Murphy show needed 10 minutes to get started, but after it did the Marines Murphy opened up scoring for Long Beach with the lone first period goal, then added two early 2nd period goals to open up a 6 goal second period. The Playoffs MVP, Murphy lead the team with 5 goals in the finals.

Beach's Kieran Byrne remained perfect in goal guiding the Marines their second straight playoff shutout closing the door on the best of three series 2-0.

Coach Brand told our Charlie Ben-Ami after the game, "the team bought into backchecking first and scoring second". The tactic appeared to be very successful as the Syosset Braves were never able to get one past the goal line in either game.

Capping a great season, both teams will advance to the NYS Tournament and perhaps more success looms for both contenders.

MVP's Vincent Palagiano and AJ Frankaitis shine

At the Town of Oyster Bay annually hosted classic Saturday night, in front of a packed crowd, the Western Nassau All-Stars saw a late goal by Sewanhaka / Valley Stream player Matthew Bomeisi to jump in front of the TOB All-Stars in a closely fought, highly skilled match. The final score was Western Nassau 3 TOB 2.

Bellmore/Merrick's Vincent Palagiano added a goal and was named the West's MVP. Farmingdale netminder AJ Frankaitis stopped many tough shots and went the distance for TOB as it's MVP.
